Artist's Comments
This was designed as a companion-piece (of sorts -- they're both girl's shirts, at any rate) to the design that I submitted directly prior to this, "Behold!" [link] which incorporates the scene in the opening sequence of Gemfire which comes immediately after the one I have included here. in this design. (Y'all get all that?
The original intent was to make a design that was to play on the emotions of former videogaming RPGer's of the oldest caliber -- give them a saddened, bittersweet look back on the days of gaming gone by. It failed miserably, of course -- but hey! The design is not only extremely attractive, it incorporates an interesting motif I pulled quite accidentally -- note the extremely pixellated appearance of the font. Whilst accidental, it came to look like the overly-pixellated titlescreens of many early-PC fantasy games. Pretty neat, huh? Remember a time when magic was real? Screenshot taken with a JNES emulator, editing done in Paint. |
