Artist's Comments

This was designed as a companion-piece (of sorts -- they're both girl's shirts, at any rate) to the design that I submitted directly prior to this, "Behold!" [link] which incorporates the scene in the opening sequence of Gemfire which comes immediately after the one I have included here. in this design. (Y'all get all that? ;) )

The original intent was to make a design that was to play on the emotions of former videogaming RPGer's of the oldest caliber -- give them a saddened, bittersweet look back on the days of gaming gone by.

It failed miserably, of course -- but hey! The design is not only extremely attractive, it incorporates an interesting motif I pulled quite accidentally -- note the extremely pixellated appearance of the font. Whilst accidental, it came to look like the overly-pixellated titlescreens of many early-PC fantasy games.

Pretty neat, huh? :D

Remember a time when magic was real? :)

Aha. I remember. The several different crystals of Gemfire. You'd have to try to unite them during your conquest of the continent. Yay for nostalgia.

Gemfire is an amazing game. I always loved fighting the dragon. =] It always felt like a game of chess, lol.

Gemfire is my childhood -- not even kidding. It's the singlemost sacred and precious thing that I have of my early childhood memories.

The theme still makes me cry. :blushes:

Likewise. =] I was reunited with it recently after having forgotten the title. I remember playing it on Sega Channel before the said channel went bankrupt. Ah.. The good old days... The 5 minute wait for Sega Channel to contact it's server from my good ol' genisis, the 1 month wait for new games to be uploaded into the server, the 10 minute wait for the games to load... Such fond memories have been tied to Gemfire.
